Running BIO
Years of running:
11-12 (since 1993)
Teams I have run for:
Conard High School 1993 – 1997, Fordham University 1997 –
2001, University of New South Wales 2002
Reason I started running:
Coach P., Conard High X-Country coach from 1997-2001
Coach
P. saw me running a relay at 8th grade field day, came up to me
and said, “What sport are you doing next year?” I replied, “soccer or
football.” He firmly stated, “No you are not…you are running for me.” And
that was that…I became a runner.
Fav. Running Philosophies/Advice:
Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) – Coach P., high school coach; Be
Consistent – Sean Williams, coach in Australia
Fav. Runner(s):
My father, Coach P., my teammates at Conard, Fordham and in
Australia, the athletes I helped to coach in spring 2004, Prefontaine,
Shorter, Salazar, Rodgers, Webb and everyone who gives it a go.
Fav. Distance(s) to race:
3k, 5k, 10k
Hardest Race(s) ever:
the marathon (that last 10k hurts), the Mt. Washington Rd. Race (7.6 miles
uphill)
Funniest race ever!
60m at Rutgers (by the time I came out of the blocks, the other guys were
half way done with the race)…hey, I gave it a go
Running goals for life:
stay healthy and keep improving
