Hello America!  I am running from Newport Beach, CA to Newport, RI.  And it would be really cool if I got a couple people to help me out along the way.   Here are some ways you could help –

1)     Lodging – I am going to be running through a lot of towns throughout my quest.  I have actually mapped out 147 towns to stop in along the way.  So if I were coming through your neck of the woods and you wouldn’t mind housing a runner for a night…I would be much obliged.  I have been through college and backpacked through the Australia outback so I am not picky at all.  I’ll sleep in the barn, in the garage, on the floor, on a couch or whatever.  I’ll also help you out washing the dishes or taking out the trash.  If you are interested in housing me for a night, take a look at the list of towns I am running through.  If you live within a couple miles of the town that I have listed…that is cool to …I’ll run there.  I’m flexible.  Just drop me an email at willy@runwillyrun.com and include your contact info and a good time to be reached.  I’ll then be in touch and we can fig things out.

2)     Pass along my website to everyone you know – Family, friends, co-workers, your brothers best friend’s sisters first boyfriend, your softball team, your book club, your church group, your running club, your college friends, the media (media link).  This would be a huge help.  The more people that know about my run the better.

3)     Come and run with me/hang out with me/show me around – any of these would be greatly appreciated.  If you want to run with me…that would be real cool.  Needless to say….it might get a little bit lonely running more than 3000 miles by myself.  If you want to run with me…look at the towns I am running through and either drop me an email, call me or just show up (the directions from one center of town to another are on the website however, the starting point per day could change depending on who I am staying with/where I am staying).  Also feel free to call me.  As far as hanging out, showing me around your town or just saying hi…I am only running an average of 20- 25 miles a day (approx 3 – 4 hours) so I will have a lot of spare time.  Even if I am already staying with someone that night…please contact me to hang out or say hi (contact info)

4)     Post healthy recipes – In order for one to eat healthy, it is important to know good recipes.  If you have any really good, healthy recipes that you wouldn’t mind sharing…please feel free to post them (recipe link).

5)     Post quotes, ideas and philosophies - people can share positive messages and this will also inspire me as I run.

6)     Think outside the box, think positive and do something…then tell me what you did – whether it is that you started working out and you have done it for three weeks in a row or you decided to give up popcorn or you decided to go for the promotion…tell me about it.  Your story will not only help me…it will help others as well.

7)     Donations – I am not too comfortable accepting monetary donations.  However, if you would like to donate socks, water, or anything else you can think of…get in touch and we’ll see (contact info).  Also, if you would like to make a donation, I have listed certain organizations that help in fitness and nutrition education to adults and children (link).

8)     Sponsorship – If your company is interested in sponsoring me, that would be pretty cool, however I am not actively seeking sponsorship.  Drop me an email and we’ll see if we can work something out.

I thank everyone in advance who is willing to help.  This run would not be possible without your kindness and support.  If you do decide to help, I will include your name on my thank you page.  Furthermore, if a business would like to help out, I will put the business name and a contact person on my thank you page ie. John Smith – Xx Company.
